REWARDING COOPERATION
In 2004, Riebeek Valley Wine Partners, in conjunction with Riebeek Cellars, made history in the Valley, planting 15 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc vineyards to launch the Riebeek Valley's first wine empowerment initiative.Aptly named Partnership Vineyards, this Fairtrade venture has proved a model of co-operation and sustainability. Consisting entirely of unirrigated trellised vines, the methods employed at Partnership represent a progressive move towards practices well suited to wine making in a hot, dry region. The superb Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz that emerge, bursting with fruit and character, are just reward.
